Katie West: On Christianity, or Let's Poke A Hole In Easter Shall We?

    seej500:

Folks, I have something to admit.

    I’m a Christian.

I know, I know; it’s deeply unfashionable, and doesn’t really seem to fit with my whole I-LIEK-SCIENCE agenda, but if you’ll allow me to explain, you might discover that you too are a Christian, and that perhaps more importantly,…

A cat is not a good nutritionist

me: I'm kind of learning the things I shouldn't eat or drink based on what my cat will actually try to steal from me
me: Tries to: good to eat
me: Offered and snubs it: probably not the best
    Ivy: lol
me: Needless to say, I'm eating a lot of cheese and not so much salad
me: ...maybe this isn't a good diet plan

    Lynly on "127 Hours"

Lynly: I won't go see that movie because I know how it ends.
me: Well, yeah, he cuts his arm off, but it's Danny Boyle!
Lynly: I get uncomfortable when people stick others with needles in movies.
me: What if I play "Yakety Sax" while that scene is happening?
    Lynly: Compromise reached!

A radical pessimist's guide to the next 10 years - The Globe and Mail

Really fascinating article, full of pessimistic futurism, with only shades of the grim meathook future.  The future’s not scary so much as depressing and histrionic.

Note: I only agree with some of this.  I think as it goes on, it gets a bit more sensationalist.

Very…intriguing film on hidden weapons. Stick around ‘til 2:42, the sound effect at the end of that sequence is amazing.
